However, one possibility is that a lot of the people on the internet rely on the status bar at the bottom of their screens to tell them when the PC is finished downloading the page before clicking on any links on it. On the signup page presented with the timer running, the download of the page will only end when the timer runs down. At least on my PC that was the indication. I watched it and checked the page for completeness and that is what I was able to determine as to what was happening. My PC has major problems at this time and I must watch that status bar to make sure that it is working properly. That's how I determined this possible cause for their problems.
